This week's dreary weather inspired me to use brighter colours in this latest piece from the Tasting Room series. Despite my unswerving love of neutrals, I learned that I also love painting in red. This "contemporary still life," with its matt white background, would add a fabulous pop of colour to any neutral space. What I like about this painting is that my photorealistic approach is accompanied by an allusion to minimalism, with red spots on a very empty white surface.
