Yesss National Post!

Yesterday's National Post featured an image my pistachios, a hyperreal painting measuring 48" x 48". I owe this press to Gastropost, "a project spearheaded by the National Post that sends food lovers on various food-related missions and gets them to share their experiences." Last week's mission asked Gatroposters to share their favourite snack foods, and so naturally, I had to post my pistachios.

Gastropost's newest mission is ANY WAY YOU SLICE IT:

"We will be taking a closer look at a staple that has sustained humanity for millennia but can be easy to overlook. Your mission is to post something that shows bread at its tastiest. Without bread there would be no toast, no sandwiches, no pitas - and what kind of a world would that be? From a slice of your favourite gluten-free option with jam, to a great meal prepared using a fresh baguette from the bakery down the street, go with the grain and share it with your fellow Gatroposters."

I've submitted the following two paintings, and I hope to see one of them in next week's National Post! If you're a food lover, I encourage you to become a Gastroposter. Here's how: http://gastropost.nationalpost.com/
